From the Valley Comes a Warning
밸리로부터 온 경고.
Maybe it was the tombstone that did it.
어쩌면, 경고를 한 것은 바로 묘비광고일 것이다.
Even as Wall Street burned, Silicon Valley seemed strangely sanguine.
비록 월가가 타버렸지만, 실리콘 밸리는 이상하게도 희망차 보인다.
Then a PowerPoint presentation from Sequoia Capital prophesying Armageddon — featuring an “R.I.P. Good Times” headstone — made the rounds.
그후, “R.I.P. Good Times"을 토대로 Sequoia사의 아마겟돈을 예지하는 발표가 퍼졌다.
A month later, venture capital firms are slashing investments and counseling portfolio companies to cut jobs.
한달 후, 벤처 자본 회사들은 투자를 크게 삭감하는 중이고 증권사들에게 감원을 할 것을 권고 하는 중이다.
Sequoia’s warning may reflect the technology industry’s woes, but it’s more notable for what it says about venture capital.
